PASSIVE SENTENCE

            A passive verb is a form of be + a passive participle, e.g. is baked, was worn. Some participles are irregular. A passive changes the emphasis of of a sentence. Passive can separate into 3 groups :

1.      The girl cut the cakes.

Answer: The cakes were cut by the girl

2.      Where did the dolphins carry their young?

Answer: Where was their young carried by the dolphins?

3.      Have you delivered the letter?

Answer: Has the letter been delivered by you?

4.      The police ought to put the thief.

Answer: The thief ought to be put by the police.

5.      The minister of finance had finished the new program to the society.

Answer: The new program had been finished by the minister to the society.

6.      Doesn’t she takes the books from the library?

Answer: Aren’t the books token by her from the library?

7.      The manager asked to me whether the secretary has finished the report writing of the previous meeting.

Answer: The manager asked to me whether the report writing of the previous meeting has been finished by the secretary
