ARTICLE
An article (abbreviated to ART) is a word (prefix or suffix) that is used alongside a noun to indicate the type of reference being made by the noun. The articles in the English Language are The and a/an.
The is used to refer to specific or particular nouns. Use The when talking about something which is already known to the listener or which has been previously mentioned, introduced, or discussed.
Example :   Sweep the floor !
                   Open the window ,please!
Where is the bathroom? it’s on the second floor.
Do use the before:
  • names of rivers, oceans and seas: the Nilethe Pacific
  • points on the globethe Equatorthe North Pole
  • geographical areas: the Middle Eastthe West
  • deserts, forests, gulfs, and peninsulas: the Sahara, the Persian Gulf, the Black Forest, the Iberian Peninsula
A/AN  is used to modify non-specific or non-particular nouns.
A(AN) when you are talking about a thing in general, NOT a specific thing.

Example :
                     Do you have a pen?
Yesterday ,I watched a cinema movie.
Use A(AN) when talking about a thing which is new, unknown, or introduced to a listener for the first time.
Example :      I have a cat.
                      Roger is a Pilot
Similarly, use A(AN) to introduce what type of thing we are talking about.
Example:    I look an elephant.
                   I read an amazing story.
I eat an apple.
REMEMBER: You cannot use A(AN) with plural nouns because A(AN) means "one" or "a single".
