Adverbs are words that tell you more about verbs, adjectives and
other adverbs. Many adverbs end in
ly. You make these adverbs by adding ly
to adjectives.

Notes: some words that end in ly are not adverbs. Some adjectives end in ly too. For example:

of Emphasis

We
have seen that most adverbs describe verbs, but remember that some adverbs also
describe adjectives or other adverbs. They
are usually used to add emphasis.

are some examples. They emphasizing adverbs are printed in bold. They
adjectives or adverbs they describe are printed in color.
